In the pre-dawn hours of an April morning in 2008, the life of Erick Jamar Woods was cut short by violence on a street in Washington, D.C. On Saturday, April 26, 2008, at approximately 4:00 a.m., Woods was shot and killed in the 2400 block of Elvans Road, SE. The Metropolitan Police Department responded to the scene and opened a homicide investigation into his death.
