Inside, they discovered 27-year-old Darius Burts, a Black/African American male, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. DC Fire and EMS personnel responded to the scene but found no signs of life; Mr.
Burts was pronounced dead at the location of the shooting.
The Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch is heading the investigation into the death of Darius Burts, which they have classified as a homicide.
