In the late winter of 2016 in Phenix City, Alabama, a sense of unease settled over a local family when Tracey Crowell was reported missing. The initial hope for her safe return would soon turn to sorrow. On March 19, 2016, the search for the 38-year-old Black woman came to a tragic end when her body was discovered.
