On January 8, 2023, at approximately 1:30 p.m., officers from the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a reported shooting at a residence in the 3500 block of Nutmeg Place. Upon arrival, they discovered 20-year-old Julien Amir Wright inside the home, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical attention, Wright was pronounced dead at the scene.
