On April 8, 2016, 28-year-old Adarius Elon Williams was fatally shot at a Citgo gas station in Fairfield, Alabama, a day after his birthday. The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. when Williams approached a white Nissan Altima occupied by Vincent and Barbara Washington, siblings with whom he had a prior relationship. Surveillance footage captured Vincent exiting the vehicle, engaging in a brief conversation with Williams, and then shooting him multiple times at close range.
