On a cold Sunday morning in Washington, D.C., the body of a man, later identified as Anthony “Wysocki” Pryor, was discovered. It was November 23, 2008, when members of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District and personnel from the D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department responded to a call about an unconscious person at the intersection of East Capitol Street, SE, and the southbound Interstate 295 exit. Upon their arrival at approximately 6:40 a.m., they found Pryor with no signs of life. He was pronounced dead at the scene by a representative from the Chief Medical Examiner's Office.
The case was immediately classified as a homicide and handed over to the department's Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch for a full investigation. The police sought the public's help in gathering any information related to the incident.
To encourage community assistance, a reward of up to $25,000 was offered for any information that would lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Pryor's death.
Despite the ongoing investigation and the offered reward, there have been no public announcements regarding any arrests made or suspects identified in the years following Pryor's death.
