On a late winter evening in Washington, D.C., a burst of gunfire shattered the peace and ended the life of Deonte Bethea. The 30-year-old man was in the 3500 block of Center Street, Northwest, on Saturday, March 7, 2015, when he was fatally shot. The incident occurred at approximately 9:39 p.m., leaving a community shaken and a family grieving an irreversible loss.
