In the early hours of a Sunday morning in Washington, D.C., a young life full of promise was tragically cut short. Just after midnight on September 22, 2019, shots rang out in the 200 block of 51st Street, Northeast. When police arrived at the scene around 12:58 a.m., they found 21-year-old Rachid Ferguson of Northwest, D.C., suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services rushed him to a nearby hospital, but his injuries were too severe, and he was pronounced dead.
