On November 21, 2016, 74-year-old Fay Moore and her husband, 78-year-old Bennie Moore, were fatally shot while sleeping in their Blountsville, Alabama, home. Their son, Heath Moore, called 911 shortly before midnight, reporting that he had shot his parents. Following the dispatcher's instructions, he placed the weapon down and exited the house, where deputies arrested him without incident.
