In the early morning hours of Friday, January 2, 2009, a burst of violence shattered the predawn stillness in the 3500 block of Stanton Road in Southeast Washington, D.C. It was there that 25-year-old Gregory Manago, an African-American male, was shot. The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m., leaving Manago with fatal injuries.
