On May 1, 2017, 14-year-old JaQuerria Timmons was fatally shot near Bellingrath Middle School in Montgomery, Alabama. The incident occurred in the yard of a nearby church shortly after school hours. JaQuerria sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and was transported to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
