On May 13, 2017, 56-year-old Carl "Ben" Barnes was fatally shot in his Montgomery, Alabama, home. The incident occurred late that Saturday evening on the 100 block of West Patton Avenue. Investigations revealed that Barnes was struck by a bullet fired from outside his residence.
