On August 1, 2009, Kenneth Tate, aged 47, was shot and killed at approximately 2:00 a.m. while he was in the 4200 block of Illinois Avenue NW, Washington, D.C. The incident occurred during the early hours of Saturday morning. Responding officers from the Metropolitan Police Department found Tate suffering from gunshot wounds, and he succumbed to his injuries shortly afterward. Despite ongoing efforts by law enforcement, the homicide remains unsolved.
