In the late summer of 2017, a domestic dispute in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, escalated to a fatal conclusion, claiming the life of 23-year-old Lonny Lee Logan. On the evening of Monday, August 28th, police responded to a call and discovered Logan suffering from at least two gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Shoals Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Born on October 11, 1993, Logan was a resident of Alabama at the time of his passing.
Authorities promptly began an investigation into the shooting. As part of their inquiry, investigators questioned Lonny Lee Logan's brother, Michael Demetrious Logan. He was taken into custody for questioning but was subsequently released the following day.
The Muscle Shoals Police Department, after their initial investigation, announced their intention to present the case to a Colbert County grand jury. The Colbert County District Attorney's Office was contacted regarding the shooting to move forward with the legal process. The events of that tragic August night left a family grieving and a community seeking answers as the case was handed over to the grand jury for further consideration.
