On September 23, 2017, 22-year-old Dre'van LaQuez Jones was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred in the 100 block of 9th Avenue West, where Jones was found unresponsive in a vehicle, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
