On April 16, 2018, 45-year-old Habibba Knight Walker was fatally shot in her McDonald Chapel, Alabama, home. Early that morning, her ex-husband, Dereck Jamaille Walker, forcibly entered her residence on Trenton Street. As their children fled to a neighbor's house, Habibba attempted to escape through the back door but was shot by Dereck.
