On a tragic day in Montgomery, Alabama, 23-year-old Nicholas DeVonta 'Mail Man' Lewis, a Black male, was fatally shot, his life cut short by an act of violence. The incident, which also claimed the life of 25-year-old Shanika King, unfolded on May 28, 2018. The double homicide prompted a swift response from law enforcement, leading to an arrest the very next day.
