On August 2, 2018, 31-year-old Javoris Miguel James was fatally shot at a Texaco gas station on Saint Stephens Road in Prichard, Alabama. Upon arrival, officers discovered James lying face down in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to USA Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Surveillance footage from the gas station revealed an altercation between James and two individuals. One of the assailants was identified as 18-year-old JaQuarrius
