On August 27, 2018, 20-year-old Kevin Ray Stewart of Owens Cross Roads, Alabama, was fatally shot on Wade Road in Huntsville. Authorities responded to the scene around 9 p.m. and discovered Stewart deceased on the roadway. The investigation revealed that the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute involving Stewart's ex-girlfriend and her current boyfriend, William Eric Wooden. Wooden, 22, was subsequently arrested and charged with capital murder in connection with Stewart's death.
