In the late summer evening of August 27, 2018, the life of 20-year-old Kevin Ray Stewart of Owens Cross Roads, Alabama, was tragically cut short. Responding to a call regarding a shooting at approximately 8:57 p.m., officers arrived at the 237 Wade Road area to find Stewart in the roadway, having sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
The investigation into the young man's death quickly pointed to a domestic dispute as the underlying cause.
Authorities identified William Eric Wooden, who was 22 years old at the time, as the primary suspect. Wooden was reportedly the current boyfriend of Stewart's ex-girlfriend, a connection that authorities believe led to the fatal confrontation.
Following the investigation, Huntsville Police arrested William Eric Wooden and charged him with Capital Murder in connection with the shooting death of Kevin Ray Stewart. He was subsequently booked into the Madison County jail.
