On September 5, 2018, at approximately 2:20 a.m., 26-year-old Briana Young of Brighton, Alabama, was involved in a fatal shooting incident in Birmingham's Pratt City neighborhood. She and a male companion, who was in his 40s, were seated in a vehicle at the intersection of 10th Place and Avenue U when an unknown assailant opened fire on them. Despite their injuries, they managed to drive to Princeton Baptist Medical Center for medical assistance.
