On December 3, 2018, Edward Eugene "Bodie" Howard, aged 42, died in a house fire in Tuscumbia, Alabama. The incident occurred at a residence on Riverview Drive, where Tuscumbia police were conducting surveillance to apprehend Howard, who had outstanding arrest warrants. Upon confronting him outside the home, Howard retreated inside, leading to a standoff that culminated in the house catching fire. Tragically, Howard's body was discovered inside the burned structure.
