In the early afternoon of January 6, 2019, the life of 29-year-old Jermaine Lee was tragically cut short in what would become the first homicide of the new year in Mobile, Alabama. On that Sunday, at approximately 12:25 p.m., police were called to the 1300 block of Athey Road following a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, officers found Jermaine Lee suffering from a gunshot wound.
