On July 21, 2016, 90-year-old Booker Green was approached by a group of four or five armed male juveniles while sitting in his vehicle at the intersection of Pecan Street and Belsaw Avenue in Mobile, Alabama. The assailants demanded money, and when Green refused, he was shot in the shoulder. He succumbed to his injuries on July 27, 2016.
