On February 6, 2019, 35-year-old Fletcher Lewayne Tolbert was found deceased on the porch of his residence at County Line Mobile Home Park, located at 10354 U.S. Highway 29N near the Lee-Chambers county line in Valley, Alabama. Responding to a 911 call around 7:30 a.m., Lee County Sheriff's deputies discovered Tolbert with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. Neighbors reported hearing several gunshots around 11:00 p.m. the previous night but did not alert authorities at that time.
