On February 25, 2019, at approximately 3:18 a.m., 30-year-old Michael Wayne "Dooney" Irvin Jr. was fatally shot in his home on Marion Street Southwest in Decatur, Alabama. Responding officers discovered Irvin with multiple gunshot wounds, marking the city's first homicide of 2019.
