In the quiet town of Tuskegee, Alabama, the life of 49-year-old Willie Long, known to his friends and family as 'Chuck,' was tragically cut short on the evening of May 4, 2019. Long, a Black male, was in the 700 block of Warren Avenue when gunfire erupted, claiming his life and that of another man, 39-year-old Jamie Collins. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene, leaving the community in shock and mourning.
The Tuskegee Police Department, with the assistance of the Alabama Law
Enforcement Agency's State Bureau of Investigation, launched a homicide investigation into the double slaying. As authorities worked to piece together the events of that fatal night, Central Alabama CrimeStoppers offered a $1,000 reward for any information that would lead to the arrest of those responsible for the deaths of Long and Collins.
Despite the ongoing investigation and the plea for public assistance, the case has grown cold. To date, there have been no arrests made in connection with the murders, and no suspects have been publicly identified. The violent deaths of Willie Long and Jamie Collins remain an unsolved tragedy, leaving their families and the Tuskegee community awaiting justice.
