On June 20, 2019, at approximately 10 p.m., Montgomery Police Department officers responded to reports of shots fired into an unoccupied vehicle in the 1800 block of Gibbs Circle. Upon arrival, they discovered 26-year-old Hershel Simmons suffering from a fatal gunshot wound nearby. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
