In the early morning hours of October 2, 2022, the life of 23-year-old Reginald Woods, a Black male from Montgomery, Alabama, was tragically cut short. At approximately 2:13 a.m., first responders were called to a local hospital where Woods had been brought in with a gunshot wound. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Investigators from the Montgomery Police Department determined that the shooting occurred at the intersection of Taft Street
and Malvern Street. In the months following the incident, the investigation into Woods' death has continued. As of early August 2023, authorities were still actively seeking information from the public to help identify a suspect responsible for the homicide.
To encourage potential witnesses to come forward, the Montgomery Police Department and Central Alabama CrimeStoppers have offered a cash reward for any information that leads to the identification of a suspect in the case. Law enforcement has urged anyone who may have been present at the time of the shooting to share any details they might have, no matter how insignificant they may seem. At this time, no arrests have been publicly announced in connection with the death of Reginald Woods.
