Darnell Antoine Lucas, a 37-year-old Black male from Capitol Heights, Maryland, was fatally shot on the evening of Wednesday, October 27, 2010. The incident took place at approximately 10:00 p.m. in the 2700 block of Langston Place, SE in Washington, D.C.
According to police reports, officers on patrol in the Seventh District heard gunshots and proceeded to canvass the area. They discovered Darnell Lucas on the sidewalk, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported him to Prince George's Community Hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The Metropolitan Police Department opened an investigation into the homicide and appealed to the
