On a late Saturday morning in Semmes, Alabama, the sound of gunfire shattered the quiet of February 8, 2020. The incident, which occurred around 10:21 a.m. in the area of Fernwood Loop North and Fernwood Loop West, would leave a young man dead and lead to the arrest of two brothers. The victim was 19-year-old Langston Banku Nicholson, a Black / African American male, who was a student at Alabama State University.
