On October 16, 2020, in Hartselle, Alabama, 54-year-old Bruce Everett "Blue" Cox was fatally shot at the residence of 62-year-old Mary Evelyn Hamm, located on Sage Private Drive in the Flint community. Responding to a 911 call from Hamm, Decatur Police officers arrived to find Cox suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
