On a Thursday afternoon, the 5th of November, 2020, a grim discovery was made on the U.S. Highway 31 bridge that connects Prattville and Montgomery, Alabama. The body of a young man, later identified as 27-year-old Joshua Thompson of Montgomery, was found, launching a homicide investigation led by the Montgomery Police Department. An initial examination revealed that Thompson had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
