In the city of Montgomery, Alabama, a 27-year-old Black man named Jimmy Borom III lost his life in a fatal shooting on November 13, 2020. The incident, which marked the city's 56th homicide of the year, unfolded in the 900 block of Ann Street. Borom was seated inside his vehicle when the events that led to his death transpired. Remembered by those who knew him as 'BoBo,' he was a father of two and worked as a chef and at Walmart.
His death left a significant void in the lives of his family and friends, who described him as having a laid-back and protective nature.
The investigation into the shooting led to the arrest of 24-year-old Cardesio Frazier. According to court records, Frazier allegedly approached Borom's vehicle and fired through the windshield, striking him. Following the incident, Frazier was taken into custody and charged with capital murder. He was subsequently held at the Montgomery County Detention Center without bond. The motive for the shooting remained under investigation.
Borom was laid to rest at Eastwood Memorial Gardens in Montgomery. His life was remembered by his loved ones, who recalled his goofy, laid-back, and chill personality, as well as his protective instincts. He had attended Patterson Elementary, Southlawn Middle, and Robert E. Lee High School.
