Caleb Royal, a 19-year-old male from Montgomery, Alabama, was fatally shot on the evening of April 16, 2017. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. in the 4000 block of Amesbury Drive. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found Royal suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to Baptist Medical Center South, where he succumbed to his injuries approximately three hours later.
