On January 22, 2021, 58-year-old Patrick Edward Burkhart of Falkville, Alabama, was fatally shot. The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. at a residence in the 1200 block of Highway 55 East, situated between Falkville and Eva. Upon receiving a 911 call reporting the shooting, Morgan County Sheriff's deputies and investigators responded to the scene, where they discovered Burkhart deceased with a gunshot wound to the face.
