Shaquille O'Neil Steel, a 27-year-old from Bessemer, Alabama, was tragically killed in a shooting on March 3, 2021. The incident occurred in the 600 block of 2nd Avenue North, near the heart of Bessemer, a city located just southwest of Birmingham. Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area and discovered Steel suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving.
