On July 5, 2012, Julius Ellington, a 35-year-old resident of Washington, D.C., was shot and killed in the early hours of the morning. The incident occurred at approximately 2:20 a.m. in the 600 block of Morton Street, NW. Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to reports of gunshots and discovered Ellington at the scene with fatal injuries.
