On June 16, 2021, at approximately 9:45 a.m., Baldwin County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting a shooting at the end of Friendship Road in Daphne, Alabama. Upon arrival, deputies and medical personnel discovered 45-year-old Yaphet Hunter of Chunchula, Alabama, suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts, Hunter succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
