On September 6, 2021, 16-year-old Chavan Jometrius Scruggs was fatally shot near Figures Park on Allison Street in Mobile, Alabama. Responding officers found him lying in the road, where he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Mobile Police Department launched an investigation into the incident.
