On a Wednesday evening in Washington, D.C., the life of 28-year-old Donald Ray Brown was tragically cut short. It was September 4, 2013, at approximately 9:18 p.m., when gunfire erupted in the rear of the 900 block of 3rd Street, SW. Donald, a Black male from Northeast D.C., was found unconscious at the scene, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
