In the early hours of Valentine's Day in 2012, the life of 21-year-old Lamar Marquel Walker was tragically cut short in a fatal shooting in Washington, D.C. A Black male from Southeast D.C., Walker was discovered by authorities in the 4900 block of Call Place SE, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The incident unfolded at approximately 12:51 a.m., when officers from the Sixth District responded to reports of gunfire in the area.
Upon their arrival, they found Walker, who was then rushed to a local hospital by D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch launched an investigation into the shooting, which they have classified as a homicide.
In the wake of the shooting, the Metropolitan Police Department has appealed to the public for assistance in gathering information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Walker's death.
