In the late morning of Sunday, October 2, 2022, the life of 22-year-old Antonio Waller was tragically cut short in a fatal shooting in Northwest Washington, D.C. A male resident of the area, Waller was in the 1200 block of North Capitol Street, NW, when the incident occurred at approximately 11:55 a.m.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District responded to a report of a shooting and discovered Waller at the scene, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. D.C.
Fire and Emergency Medical Services were also dispatched to the location; however, upon their arrival, they found no signs of life. Antonio Waller was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was later transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
In the days following the shooting, the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Waller's death. Authorities announced that no arrests had been made in connection with the homicide, and the investigation was ongoing. The police department appealed to the public for any information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible, offering a reward of up to $25,000.
