In the summer of 2022, a dispute between family members in Dothan, Alabama, escalated to a fatal conclusion, ending the life of 31-year-old William Henry Roberson Jr. On the afternoon of June 14, police responded to a call on North Bell Street where they discovered Roberson lying in the street with a gunshot wound. Emergency medical aid was rendered at the scene before he was transported to a local hospital, where he was ultimately pronounced deceased.
The investigation into the shooting
quickly pointed to a relative as the perpetrator. Authorities determined that an argument over some form of property had preceded the deadly encounter. Following the shooting, the suspect fled the scene, sparking a search by law enforcement.
Dothan police identified 25-year-old Tobias Tavante Marsh as the individual responsible for Roberson's death. Marsh was located, arrested, and subsequently charged with capital murder. He was taken into custody and held in the Houston County Jail without bond.
