In the Brightwood neighborhood of Northwest Washington, D.C., the evening of Saturday, December 7, 2013, was shattered by the sound of gunfire. At approximately 8:58 p.m., officers from the Fourth District responded to reports of gunshots in the 900 block of Sheridan Street, Northwest. Upon their arrival, they discovered a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
The man was identified as 31-year-old Demetrius Eccles, a resident of Northwest D.C. D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Service
