On a summer evening in Sylacauga, Alabama, the life of 20-year-old Jadrean Drell Dykes was tragically cut short. On Friday, July 29, 2022, Dykes was shot multiple times in the Drew Court Housing Community. The Sylacauga Police Department responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Inglewood Drive at approximately 8:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found Dykes near the intersection of N. Main Avenue and Sherwood Drive with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
