On the evening of July 29, 2022, at approximately 8:30 PM, the Sylacauga Police Department responded to reports of gunshots in the Drew Court Housing Community, located on Inglewood Drive in Sylacauga, Alabama. Upon arrival, officers were directed by residents to the intersection of North Main Avenue and Sherwood Drive, where they discovered 20-year-old Ja’Drean Mondrell Dykes suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
