Deandrea Martez Moore, a 29-year-old Black male, was tragically killed in a drive-by shooting on what was supposed to be a day of celebration. On September 11, 2022, Moore was celebrating his birthday in Birmingham, Alabama, when the violent incident occurred. The shooting not only claimed his life but also resulted in another individual being injured.
The preliminary investigation by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office indicated that Moore and others were gathered for his birthday
when a vehicle approached and someone inside opened fire. The gunfire struck Moore, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The attack appeared to be a targeted act of violence, cutting short a life in the midst of what should have been a joyous occasion.
Despite the initial investigation and media coverage of the incident, there have been no subsequent public announcements regarding any arrests or the identification of any suspects in the murder of Deandrea Martez Moore. The case remains an unsolved homicide, leaving a void of information for his family and the community. As of now, the individuals responsible for the fatal birthday shooting have not been brought to justice.
