On December 28, 2022, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the Athens Police Department received a report of a shooting in the 2000 block of Aretha Drive in Athens, Alabama. Upon arrival, officers discovered 29-year-old Cameron Oshai Whitt suffering from a gunshot wound. Whitt was promptly transported to Athens Limestone Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Following an investigation, authorities arrested 20-year-old Athens resident Jordan Laron Turner in connection with the incident. T
