An 18-year-old Black male, Jaedan Davis, was tragically killed in a shooting in Montgomery, Alabama, during the early morning hours of Sunday, January 29, 2023. The incident, which also resulted in the injury of another adult male, unfolded in the 2900 block of Canterbury Drive, where Montgomery police officers were dispatched around 1:40 a.m. following reports of gunfire.
Upon their arrival, they discovered Davis, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shortly after finding Davis, authorities were called to another location, the 1700 block of Tolbert Street, where they found the second victim. This individual was suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Investigators have indicated that the two shootings are connected, with the second incident also originating from the Canterbury Drive location.
The Montgomery Police Department has classified Davis's death as a homicide and is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. To date, no arrests have been publicly announced in connection with the death of Jaedan Davis, and authorities have not released any information regarding potential suspects.
