On December 17, 2023, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a man threatening to shoot patrons in the parking lot of a Waffle House located in the 2200 block of Center Point Parkway, near Birmingham, Alabama. Upon arrival, deputies discovered 26-year-old Cristall Terrell Hereford of Huntsville lying in the parking lot with a fatal gunshot wound.
