Semaj Carter, a 21-year-old Black male from Philadelphia, PA, tragically lost his life on July 20, 2020. He was one of three victims in a triple shooting that occurred on the 5000 block of Chester Avenue. At approximately 9:45 p.m., Philadelphia Police Officers responded to the scene and found Carter inside a black Mercedes suffering from a gunshot wound to his back. Despite their efforts to save him, Carter was pronounced dead at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center later that night.
